Paul   Gibbs

Gibbs, Paul Paul Gibbs, age 86, of Wyoming, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 30, 2015.  He retired from Grand Rapids Public Schools after many years of faithful service.  Paul had a great sense of humor and was a very loyal and generous man; always putting his family first in all that he did.  He enjoyed watching sports at all levels and was an avid fan and supporter of Roger’s High School athletics.  Paul was also an animal lover and especially loved his pets. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Erma Gibbs, 6 brothers and 4 sisters. He will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 65 years, Doris (Collins) Gibbs; children, Linda Gibbs, Roger Gibbs; grandchildren, Gerri Sypytkowski, Wendy and Scott Thomas, Tina Kamphuis; great grandchildren, Cassie, Ayla, Jaden, and Sylar; brother, William Gibbs; sister, Medell Wheat, sisters-in-law, Norma Dewey, Stella Hess; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday 1 PM at Woodward Baptist Church, 2160 76th Street Southwest, Byron Center with Pastor Lance Laker officiating.  Interment Winchester Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 7-9 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW and on Tuesday from 12-1 PM at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Woodward Baptist Church.
