Patrick Jeffrey Gemmen

Patrick Jeffrey Gemmen, age 49, of Allendale, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 20, 2016. Patrick was a loving husband and father who loved spending time outdoors in God’s creation with family and friends. He had the gift of serving others and was actively involved at his church, and also honoring US veterans with his collection of Army Jeeps in various parades. Patrick was the owner of Aluwax Dental in Allendale. He was a graduate of Unity Christian High School and Grand Valley State University Seidman College of Business. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Grace Coeling, Gerrit and Marguerite Gemmen; mother-in-law, Marjorie Stroven; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Robin Stroven. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 24 years, Loriann (Stroven); children, Lyndsey, Andrea, Kurtis, and Christopher Gemmen; parents, Garald and Patricia Gemmen; father-in-law, Gordon Stroven; brother, Gary and Sandi Gemmen; sister, Heather Gemmen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary Stroven, Scott and Mary Ann Stroven, Wayne and Denise Leep, Kathy Stroven; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and numerous dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 25, at 11 am at Bauer Community Fellowship Church, 4852 Bauer Rd., Hudsonville, with Pastor Robert Whinnen officiating.  Interment Allendale Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (corner of Avery and Scott) 6651 Scott St., Allendale and also on Tuesday from 10-10:45 am prior to the service at the church.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Unity Christian High School Tuition Assistance Fund or to Scott Stroven Campus Crusade (CRU).
