Patricia Van Portfliet

Patricia Ann Van Portfliet, age 91, of Jenison, was called to Heaven on Thursday, December 18, 2025. She is now completely healed in mind, body, and soul and joins all the heavenly hosts in singing endless praise to her Lord and Savior. Her family was her greatest love, and she supported and cherished them with all her heart. She was a longtime, devoted member of Fair Haven Church. She graduated with high honors from Union High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and went on to give outstanding service as an executive secretary at the Michigan Inspection Bureau and later at Lear Siegler, Inc., both in Grand Rapids. After taking time away from her career to raise her children, she dedicated many years to caring for others as a geriatric aide at Holland Home, Brookcrest Nursing Home, and Sunset Manor.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Jim; parents, Hugh and Marian Furtney; son-in-law, Bill Kamp; and sisters, Etta Mae Thede and Nancy Sagorski (Ciluffo). She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Eric and Susan Van Portfliet, Sue Kamp, David and Jolene Van Portfliet, Barb and Kevin Jansen; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kirk and Kelli Van Porfliet (Mason, Hunter, Everly), Kevin Van Portfliet, Dirk and Kristy Van Portfliet, Aubrey and Ryan Manley (Ady, Lilly, Troy), Marlee and Nick Rivers (Delaney, Porter), Jason and Emily Wesenick, Jesse Wesenick, Josh Wesenick, Nicki and Jesse Schellinger, David and Jenna Jansen (Beau), Olivia Jansen; extended family, Elizabeth Hoffman and Richard Washburn; sisters and brother, Linda McGeorge, Marjorie Van Horn, David and Donna Furtney; sister-in-law, Judy and Steve DeJong; and many loved nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Rick Kiekintveld officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
