Patricia Jean Viele, age 76, of Oscoda, Michigan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Monday, July 3, 2017 following a short illness.  Patricia was born October 20, 1940, the daughter of the late Robert and Jean (Bradley) Schaberg.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Michael Wesley Viele.  They were married on June 11, 1960 at Christ Lutheran Church in Reese, MI.  Patricia taught at Oscoda Area Schools before retiring in 1995.  They owned and operated the Whispering Winds Resort from 1973-1988.  She will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Douglas (Janel) Viele and Ann (Brian) Modzeleski; four grandchildren, Eric, Sara, Alexander and Rachel Viele; one sister, Pamela Schaberg; and two brothers-in-law, Lynn (Iris) Viele and Paul Viele.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5625 N. US-23 in Oscoda, MI with Pastor Timothy Azzam officiating.  There will be a luncheon following at Wiltse’s, 5606 F-41, Oscoda, MI.  The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Huron Shores Genealogical Society (HSGS), 6010 N.
