Bashore, Oliver I. Oliver I. Bashore, age 95, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Emmons in 1991; his wife Elizabeth Cheney Morse in 2005, four sisters, and one brother. Oliver is survived by his son, Dale, of Sunfield, Elizabeth’s extended family, and trusted friends, Al and MaryLou Cole. Oliver was born to Isaac and Lydia (Brovant) Bashore on July 20, 1919, in Mulliken, MI. He owned a farm and worked as a welder at TRW Automotive for 26 years. He was a WW II Army veteran. He served in Italy, France and the Rhineland with the 111th Co B Engr and received several decorations, including the Purple Heart. He married Dorothy in November of 1949. They spent several winter months in Lakeland, Florida, and she died after a long illness. They were longtime members of the Nazarene Church in Grand Ledge, and he had a dedicated interest in world missions. Oliver served on Work and Witness teams to Alaska and Argentina. Oliver met Elizabeth at Wesleyan Campgrounds in Brooksville, Florida and they married in December 1992. They resided in Brooksville and on Lilac Street in Jenison before moving into Sheldon Meadows Living Center in Hudsonville in 2001. Graveside Services will be held Saturday 2:00 PM at Sunfield Township Cemetery with Rev. Hand officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 6-8 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Gentiva Hospice.

Dale, Sorry for your loss. I know that he is with Jesus now and rejoicing with all of those who have gone on before him. There will be singing and rejoicing in Heaven today. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. God Bless. Martha Misener
