Octavio “Tom”  Huerta

Huerta, Octavio "Tom" HUERTA – Octavio “Tom” Lopez Huerta, aged 83 of Kentwood, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 22, 2015.  Tom brought joy and laughter to everyone he met; a true prayer warrior and servant in ministry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; daughter, Diana Ruiz; and brothers and sisters.  A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Tom will be dearly missed by his children, Ilda and John Huerta-Cassidy, Karlo and Julie Huerta, Jesse and Amanda Huerta, Abimael and Angela Huerta, David and Katsuko Huerta, Michael and Deanna Huerta, Lisa and Joseph Lier, Alex Huerta, Octavio and Sara Huerta, Gregorio and Jennifer Huerta, Ruth and Matthew Younger, Michael and Josephine Short, Scott and Leena Short, Timothy and Carmond Short, Tamara and Daniel Schuitema; many precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters; and nieces and nephews.  Funeral services for Tom will be held Tuesday at 1:00 pm at Resurrection Life Church, 5100 Ivanrest SW. Interment in Blain Cemetery.  Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 12 noon until the time of the service.  The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Walking By Faith Ministry.
