Maatman, Norman Jack MAATMAN, NORMAN Norman Maatman, aged 84 of Kentwood went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Abbie (DeMan) Maatman; brother, Donald Maatman; brother-in-law, Donald Welmerink; and niece, Lynn Watters. He was a wonderful husband to his wife of 65 years, Evelyn (Welmerink) Maatman; a very loving, proud father of Diane (Larry) Pelton, Steven Maatman (fiancée, Amy Catlin), Scott (Ginny) Maatman; grandchildren, Brian (Liz) Pelton, Tracy (Steve) Klein, Jourdan Maatman, Sam Catlin; great-grandchildren, Elliott and Norah Klein. He leaves a brother, Kenneth (Velma) Maatman; sisters-in-law, Jane Maatman, Sharon (Robert) Kornoelje; four nieces and two nephews. He served two years in the US Army during the Korean War. Norm was a housewares manager at Wurzburg’s Department Store and later retired from Amway after 28 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 26 at 1:00 pm at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo SE with Pastor Bill Crowder officiating. Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery. Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Saturday from 12 noon until 12:45 pm.
