Nellie Catherine Bouwkamp

Nellie Catherine Bouwkamp, age 95, was called home into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Nellie was born May 21, 1927, in Conrad, Montana, to Theodore and Grace Borduin. Nellie spent her life teaching young children. Starting at the young age of 18, Nellie taught at Allendale, Lafayette, and Calvin Christian Schools. Viewing children as a precious gift of God, Nellie spent a lifetime preparing them to better live their lives with her kind, generous, and loving spirit. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; son, Earl; brothers, Menno and Gerard Borduin; brother-in-law, Fernley Alofs. She is survived by her sister, Eleanor Alofs; sisters-in-law, Terri Borduin and Joyce Borduin; special guardian, Royal Mullennix; several nieces and nephews. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” Psalm 116:15. Funeral services will be held at 3pm Monday, August 1, 2022 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood. Burial held at Cascade Cemetery.
