Family owned and operated for over 85 years.
Nathan Paul Siegersma, age 38, of Allendale, went to meet Jesus on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
Nathan lived life with a joyful spirit, free from worry and full of energy. A special child of God, he was always on the go from the very beginning—there was never a dull moment, and his happiness was contagious. Nathan required 24-hour care throughout his life, and he was surrounded by those who loved and supported him every step of the way.
He attended Ottawa Area Center and later spent five years at Elim School in Illinois. Nathan then lived at Harbor House for eight years, and for the past twelve years, he made his home at Pierce Street Home, where he was lovingly cared for.
Nathan found great joy in simple pleasures. He loved car rides and anything that moved—whether it was a golf cart, a boat, or riding along on his grandmother’s lap in her wheelchair. He enjoyed playing basketball and especially treasured time spent on family outings.
In the final weeks of his life, as he was in the hospital, it became evident just how many lives Nathan had touched. We met countless individuals who shared stories of his impact, turning a difficult time into a true blessing. Nathan was deeply loved and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Mary Siegersma; grandparents, Roger and June Scheerhoorn, and Gerald Siegersma. He will be lovingly remembered by his father, Gary Siegersma; siblings, Scott Siegersma, Jeff Siegersma, Carrie Siegersma, Jennifer and Jim Boie; grandmother, Onetta Siegersma; nieces, Riley and Paetyn; nephews, James and Asher; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also left to cherish his memory are his loving Pierce Street Home family. The love and compassionate care given to Nathan during his time there was a gift from Jesus. The family wishes to express special thanks and appreciation to Melissa Rockey for her dedication and the compassionate care given to Nathan during his time there.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Matt Palsrok officiating. The burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, April 20, from 5-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Because of family members’ allergies to flowers, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Pierce Street Home in Allendale toward the construction of a gazebo in Nathan’s memory, providing a space for residents to enjoy the outdoors.
