Nancy Sue Bishop

Nancy Sue Bishop (Walsh) of Hudsonville, Michigan, passed into heaven and received complete healing on December 16, 2021. Nancy was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, on April 10, 1956 and graduated from Fraser High School. Her final days were spent at home with her husband of 45 years, Dan, their children Matthew (Meredith), Joshua (Michele), Julie (Satoshi), and their seven beloved grandchildren. She is survived by her mother, Virginia Walsh, and her three siblings, William (Marie), Robert, and Janice (Dave).

Her adventurous spirit, determination, and sense of humor shined through in everything she did. This was evident to all whom she impacted with her life during her years in youth ministry as she, undaunted, went on backpacking trips, performed silly skits, and created a safe place for teenagers. These qualities remained evident later during her years as a piano teacher, as she ran her wildly successful jewelry business, spoke at women’s retreats, led Bible studies, and joined Dan in ministry in several cities across the country. Yet her most precious time spent was loving her family—she was always the focal point of family gatherings, the life of the party, and the instigator of good trouble (just ask her grandkids). She loved to spend time with Dan in Perdido Key, Florida, and in recent years discovered her love for hiking and a talent for painting.

A Celebration of Nancy’s life will be announced at a later date.

In honor of Nancy’s life, we ask that memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to Alpha Grand Rapids.
