Remembering Nancy Jane Martin

Nancy Jane Martin entered her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was an extraordinary woman, incredible mother, and grandmother whose love knew no limits. Nancy had a rare gift for making everyone feel like family. To know her was to feel welcomed, valued, and deeply cared for. She truly was everyone’s grandma.

We were all blessed to be greeted by her warmth, her gentle spirit, and her endless generosity. We will miss her cherished coffee chats, where she made each person feel like the most important person in the room. Her gift of listening, her beautiful hospitality, and ability to make anyone feel loved was unmatched. Leaving her home always meant leaving with a full heart and a full stomach.

Nancy carried herself with grace and joy. She was always put together—lipstick flawless, pink nails perfectly polished, and a hint of sparkle that was unmistakably hers. But her true beauty shone from within. Nancy’s faith was strong and unwavering. She was humble and devoted, living each day with a servant’s heart. She leaves behind a space in our hearts that can never be filled, and a legacy of love, laughter, and grace that will endure.

Nancy is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years Patrick “Mick” Martin, and her loving son Patrick “Carty” Martin. She is reunited with her parents, Frank and Jennie Vereecken, siblings Charles (Marge) Vereecken, Frank (Evelyn) Vereecken, Richard Vereecken, and Gloria (Ken) VanPutten.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Jerry (Deborah) Martin, Cindy (Kirk) Warner, Dean Martin (Jesus Lara), Sherri (Ron) DeYoung; grandchildren; Kristen (Donovan) Rinehart, Andrew (Kelcie) Martin, Jeff (Erin) Martin, Jason (Amy) Warner, Ryan (Megan) Warner, Brandon (Katherine) Warner, Carissa (Tony) McClary, Kaleigh (Tom) Herin, Joshua (Kelsey) DeYoung, and Andrea Martin; great-grandchildren, Ryar, Nolan, Sophia Rinehart, Shaw, Drew and Reese Martin, Maverik and Mila Martin, Lillian, Ransom and Audrey Warner, Brayden and Madden Warner, Amiyah and Myleigh McClary, Kade, Trey, Reid and Graham Herin, Emery and Hayden DeYoung; loving brother and sister-in-law, John and Julie Vereecken; sister, Delores McDonald; sister-in-law, Edith Vereecken; and all beloved nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life will be held at 12 pm Wednesday, November 26, at MKD Funeral Home, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, with her nephew, Rev. John Vereecken officiating, with an hour of visitation prior.  Burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Tuesday, November 25 from 5-8 pm  and one hour prior to the service at MKD Funeral Home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Mel Trotter Ministries and Kids’ Food Basket.

We will deeply miss Aunt Nancy, she was such a beautiful light! Always happy, energetic, outgoing and making us all laugh. She constantly checked in on us and LOVED our little boy Matthew (11 months old) she spent time with him a few months back and her face just lite up. Her family and loved ones were definitely her core and that was so incredibly special about her. We are beyond sadden by her loss, but happy she is reunited with her husband, parents and siblings.
