Nancy Ann (Denton) Rose

Nancy Ann (Denton) Rose, age 83, passed away surrounded by family at Blodgett Hospice on Friday, October 6, 2017. Nancy enjoyed family get togethers such as the holidays and the family picnic held every August to celebrate both her birthday and that of her husband, Russ. She loved to cook, travel (especially to North Carolina), and classic country music was her favorite, especially Ray Price and Marty Robbins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Russell Rose Jr.; sons, Daniel and Kenneth Rose; son-in-law Patrick Didion Sr.; parents, Jack and Fay Denton; sister, Sharon Johnson. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Cheryl Didion, Kathleen Walijewski, Russell (Gale) Rose, Barbara O’Neill, Steven Rose, Terry Rose; daughter-in-law, Mary Ruth Rose; sister, Shirley (Dennis) Ackerman; brothers, James (Dawn) Denton, Ronald (Marion) Denton; sister-in-law, Jackie Bedford; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; special cousin, Howard (Gail) Acheson Jr.; many nieces and nephews. A remembrance of Nancy’s life will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home, as well as on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Hospice, Alzheimer’s Association, or a charity of one’s choice in Nancy’s name.

My deepest of sympathies to the family of Mrs. Nancy Ann (Denton) Rose. I hope all of you gain strength, comfort, and peace of mind from the support and love of family and friends. I hope you will gain further comfort and hope from these words: God “will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” (Revelation 21:4); “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear [Jesus’] voice and come out.” (John 5:28, 29); The apostle Paul said: “... that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Acts 24:15)
