Mrs.  Helene Kooi

KOOI - Mrs.Helene J. Kooi age 91 of Grand Rapids was called home into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on May 29, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kooi, Sr. Surviving are her children, Mary (Jerry) Winters, James (Karen) Kooi Jr., Marcia (Gordon) Herrema and Steven (Joanne) Kooi; grandchildren, Mike (Amy) Winters, Mark (Heidi) Winters, Kristen (Tom) Perso, Jon (Angie) Kooi, Matt Herrema, Derek (Sarah) Herrema, Jim (Kellie) Bozek, Julie (Chad) Musch, Jill (Dan) Helms; 22 (+ one) great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Maxine (Willard ) Haak, her faithful sister in law, Helen Selles, cousins and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:30 pm on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Westend Christian Reformed Church, 1015 Westend Ave NW, Grand Rapids. The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, May 31 from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Westend Christian Reformed Church and on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Side Christian School or to The Christian Rest Home.
