Mrs.  Geraldine McNeil

MC NEIL - Mrs. Geraldine McNeil, age 85 of Wyoming, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from complications resulting from her long battle with Parkinson/Dementia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Clarion "Mac" McNeil; brother, Levrett "Bud" Nelson and sister, Betty Bohrer. She is survived by her son, Craig (Joy) McNeil of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Linda (Dan) Stone of Byron Center; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and several step grandchildren; sister, Joann (Dick) Slavin of Springfield, MA; brothers, Charles (Tom) Burns of Bel Air, CA; Robert Burns of Tolland, CT., Carl Burns of Los Angles, CA., David Burns of Green Harbor, MA., Gordon Burns (Don) of Boston, MA., and William Burns of Springfield, MA; special niece, Melissa McNeil of Suamico, WI., along with several other nieces and nephews, beloved friend, Eleanor McKinney of Albuquerque, NM; great neighbors and Mall friends. Gerri was a very thoughtful, honest person and never spoke ill of anyone. She lived a full life with her husband traveling a lot throughout their marriage. She loved her grandchildren and never seemed to forget their birthdays. She enjoyed the ocean and walking on the beach, keeping in shape and was a member of a local gym for many years. She also walked at Rivertown Mall on a regular basis with her husband. In her earlier years Gerri found a passion for Genealogy before computers were around, doing most all her research the old way. She loved to read and had a good understanding of electronics. She will truly be missed. A memorial service for Gerri will be held 12:00Noon Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Ronan-Vanderpool-Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior (11:00) to the service on Monday. Private burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date.
