Mrs.  Eleanor Kooistra

Kooistra- Eleanor June Kooistra aged 91 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 10, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Kooistra, parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving are her children, Thomas Kooistra, Dale Kooistra (Charlotte), Kenneth Kooistra (Joy), Sharon Dykema; grandchildren, Nathan (Laura) Kooistra, Philip Kooistra, David Dykema, Scott Dykema, Kelly Dykema; great grandson, Peter Kooistra; brother, Ronald Glass (Bev); brother in-law, Jim Kooistra. Eleanor was a long time member of Faith Reformed Church, where she volunteered her time in the food pantry and was a Sunday school teacher. She and Martin tutored at "The Other Way", and did volunteer work for E.C.H.O while in Florida. Eleanor was a crossing guard for many years North Godwin School, where she enjoyed watching the kids grow up . Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 21, 2015 at Faith Reformed Church, 618 32nd St. Her family will greet relatives and friends Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 4 to 6 PM at Stegenga Funeral Chapel 3131 S. Division Ave., and one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Faith Reformed Church or Hope College.
