Mr.  Richard Stilson

Richard E. Stilson, age 66 of Lakeview, MI passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at home. He was born March 7, 1949 in Lakeview, MI to Willard and Marjorie (Clark) Stilson. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1967 and attended Alma College and Central Michigan University. He married Rosanna Stilson in 1979. He cared deeply for people and spent his life showing hospitality and helped many people in need. He served the majority of his life as an ordained minister of Jehovah's Witnesses, sharing Bible truths with numerous interested people. He worked for the State of Michigan Department of Human Services in Stanton, MI from 1972 until his retirement in 2011. He enjoyed playing golf, baseball, basketball, gardening, vacationing with his family, and fishing with his sons and friends in the Upper Peninsula. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Marjorie, his brother Roger, his stepson Stephen, and niece Maris Spaulding. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rosanna; his children: Jason, Brian, Timothy and Yvette, and Jeremy; his siblings Janice and Gary Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in the gymnasium of Lakeview High School, Lakeview, MI on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm.
