Mr.  Lawrence Flater

FLATER- Lawrence 'Larry' Flater, age 82, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis in 2011. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Bruce (Linda) Flater, Denise Swallow and Marsha (Steve) Crane; grandchildren, Christopher (Angie) Flater, Michelle Swallow, Jennifer (Jordan) Yeo, Cody Crane, Tawny Crane, Andy (Diane) Parker, Casey (Faryal) Parker, Tracey (Brad) Kindall; great grandchildren, Henry, Oliver, Hazel Flater, Audrey Yeo, Caden Kaliniak, Emma Yeo, Raya Crane, Henry, Margot, Bernard Kindall, Maxwell, Lillian, Ella, Molly, Phinehas Parker. Also surviving is his sister, Betty Halverson; sisters-in-law, Dolly (Ralph) Paulson, Eileen (Leon) Shotley: several special nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Shorty Halverson, Giles Johnson, Billy Lamphier; sisters-in-law, Faye (Punk) McMillen and Arlys (Fred) Hanson. Larry retired from Hartford Life Insurance Company after 32 years. He was in the National Guard for 19 years and flew Civil Air Patrol. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and loved a good card game. Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, April 25 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE, Belmont. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, April 24 from 5-8 pm and from 10-11 am on Saturday at the funeral home.
