Mr.  Floyd Brewer

BREWER - Mr. Floyd E "Buster" Brewer, aged 71 of Grand Rapids passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014. Floyd will be remembered for his love and devotion to his wife and family. He was proud to have served his country during the Vietnam Conflict in the United States Army. After the war Floyd spent most of his working career at Meijers Distribution, retiring after 48 years of service. He was also passionate about being a Veteran and involving himself in the Rolling Thunder Michigan Chapter #4. During his spare time it was not uncommon to find him with family and friends at the American legion Post 47. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwin and Leona Brewer; his brother, Verlin Brewer; and sister, Lingle Griffin. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Marybeth Brewer; children, Dean (Tammy) Brewer, Mindy (Brian Nicholls) Brewer, Kylie (Matthew) Bond; grandchildren, Chelsea, Tyler and Shane Brewer, Aiden and Mason Bond; brothers, Bedford Brewer, Wayne (Bridgette) Brewer; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; several nieces, nephews; special family friends, Don and Lynne Lamoreaux and his dog, Harley. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. with visitation one hour prior to the service.
