Mr.  Casmir Sloboda

SLOBODA, Mr. Casmir Sloboda, aged 88, son of Peter and Francis (Misick) Sloboda Sr. , died peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2015. He will be very much missed by his wife of 65 years, Helen (Styburski) and his children, Mary Anne (Jim) Schneider, Kathleen Harrington, Diane (Mark) Doyle. Grandpa will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Daniel and Joel Schneider, Kimberly (Eric) O'Brien, Erin (Chris) Chiles, Alex Sloboda,and Pauline Harrington. Family always came first to Cas. He worked hard all his life, first for A & P and later for Elston Richards. He belonged to Teamsters 406. Antiquing was Cas' passion. He was a familiar face at area auctions where he worked hard to keep his twitching nose under control when an especially good item came up for bid. It was always an exciting moment to see the unveiling of his newest treasure when he came home. Casmir was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. His Mass of Christian Burial was held at Assumption BVM where he and Helen were members for over 50 years.
