Chip loved his family tremendously. He was a beloved "Bubba" to his six grandchildren. He loved spending his time sorting through fishing tackle with his grandsons. "Bubba" hosted the best sleepovers which always included an extra special "Bubba Root Beer Float". His grandchildren will cherish their memories with Bubba forever. Chip also had a great respect for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time in his fishing boat on local lakes but was in his glory on Lake Katherine in northern Wisconsin. Chip spent many hours in the woods seeking out the big bucks. He not only enjoyed the hunt but thoroughly enjoyed just taking in the view of the beautiful woods. Whether it was surrounded by grandkids, floating in his fishing boat, or sitting in his tree stand in the woods, Chip lived his life to the fullest. He was the best example of a family man and taught his kids just how important family is. He will be deeply missed. A Christian funeral will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 4610 Belding Rd., Rockford. Chip's family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday July 9th from 4 to 7 PM at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE, Belmont, and one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday.
