Mr.  Albert Heldt

Mr. Albert O. Heldt, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather has gone to live with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 25, 2013. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Evie; daughter, Chris (Patrick) McGladdery; son, Tim (Jackie) Heldt; grandchildren, Kevin (Ellen), Jeff, Steve (Beth) McGladdery, Lindsey (Eric) Wilson, Brennan, Shannon, Ryan Heldt; great grandchildren, Emeline and Samuel McGladdery; sister, Eileen (Roy) Kaiser; in laws, Dorothy Heldt, Aleda Doelitzsch, Merdi (Whips) Haberl, Lynn (Homer) Kerr, Ermett (Lean Maude) Mueller, Karen (Neal) Rabe, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Clara Heldt and his brother, Harold Heldt. Al was a teacher and principal at St. James Lutheran School for ten years. For the last 28 years of his career he was a Professor of Psychology at Grand Rapids Community College. He was very active in his church and in the community. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 2, 2013 at St. James Lutheran Church, 2040 Oakwood Ave. NE, Grand Rapids with Rev. James Blain officiating. His family will greet relative and friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Sunday, December 1 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE, Belmont. Interment will be in Plainfield Twp. Cemetery.
