Mildred Anders

ANDERS-Mildred E. (Manly) Anders age 95 passed away July 5th, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaylord and E. Kittie Manly; husband, Cleo Anders; son, Clare; sisters, Hazel Manly, Florence Morningstar. She is survived by her daughters, Sharen (Tom) Trahan, Karen (Gary) Smit, Kathleen (David) Wigutoff; daughter-in-law, Donna Anders; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one niece, and two nephews. Mildred was involved with Comstock Park Congregational United Church of Christ for 87 years. She taught herself to play the piano, the organ and was an accompanist for the church's children's choir for many years. She was a beloved 4-H leader for decades and a Rotary Ann for 47 years. Mildred and Cleo traveled extensively throughout the USA attending Rotary Club meetings at the local, state, national, and international levels. Together, they enjoyed being members of the Woodland Prowlers Camping Club. She was a member and past President of the Ladies Park Literary Club. Mildred's strengths were many. Her profound, steadfast, quiet faith led her through life with a determination that was soft yet strong. She always faced adversity with positive resolve. She was an inspiration to others, teaching by example, how to live with faith, patience, and grace which could only come from God. Those she leaves behind have her gifts to carry on her legacy. Visitation will be held Wednesday July 8, 2015 from 5:00-7:00P.M at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr, Belmont. Funeral services will be Thursday July 9, 2015 at 11:00A.M at the funeral chapel where relatives and friends may also meet with the family one hour prior to the service.
