Michael Robert Fields

Michael Robert Fields, age 58, of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, April 22, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Orville Fields; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Char Obetts; and his grandparents. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Michelle Fields; daughter, Kaliegh (Max) Fields Shapiro; son, Ryan (Caroline) Fields; mother, Karen Fields; brother, Tom (Cris) Fields; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kelli and Marc Gierz, Pat and Deb Obetts, Angie Nelson; his husky Copper; and extended family and friends. Mike is known as a hard working man who always put his family first. He was passionate about his faith, family, music and his friends. He never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone who needed help, always wanting to contribute to his community. Mike was deeply curious and was a life-long learner. He was courageous and strong throughout all of his trials and had a positive attitude in the face of obstacles. His kindness and enthusiasm for life were contagious. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, April 26 at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park Avenue SW, Wyoming, with Rev. John Vallier officiating. Burial at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm (Rosary at 6pm) at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Avenue SW, Wyoming, and from 10-10:45am prior to the service at church.
