Michael Richard Miller, age 21, of Jenison, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Michael graduated from the West Michigan Aviation Academy and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol for many years. He was an employee of AMR for the past 3 years. Recently, he had just passed his MCOLES and was going to attend the Police Academy. Michael will be greatly missed by his fiancée, Kayleigh Babinski; parents, Mark and Pamela Miller; sisters, Ashley Joy; Holly and Joe Kohen; brother, Matt Miller; many grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was greeted in heaven by his grandparents, Ahnita Bazany, Edgar Miller, Monica McBride; and his cousin, Heath Timmer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1481 Baldwin St., Jenison, with Pastor Matthew Starner officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to CAP (Civil Air Patrol) towards the Michael R. Miller CAP/SAR Scholarship Fund established in Michael’s name. Please make checks payable to: Michigan Wing - Civil Air Patrol and mail to: M. Miller, 8105 Belaire Dr., Jenison, MI 49428.

I had the pleasure of working with Michael in the ED at Holland and catch up with him when working for AMR. He was always so kind and gracious. So refreshing to meet someone so young who just knew what he wanted to do with his life. His loss is profound. Prayers for comfort and healing for you all.

I pray for peace for your family. I would run into Michael at work often and it was the same every time..I would get a huge smile and hello from him! He even made time for a chat. I always felt proud of him for all he accomplished at a young age. Truly a joy to know! That is what I will remember about him. He will be so missed.

Meeting Michael through my kids at West Michigan Aviation Academy was a privilege. Every time he walked through the door he had a smile on his face and lit up the room. My heart breaks for you all, but know he was well loved and well respected.

Although I wasn’t especially close to Michael, he greatly affected my life. His dedication to his work as well as his compassion for others was a major reason that I personally joined Civil Air Patrol, and thanks to Michael, my life has been different ever since. His legacy will live on through others that he impacted. Fly high.

My heart is so heavy as we are all effected by the loss of Michael. I too had the joy of watching him mature and excell in Civil Air Patrol and especially in our squadron. What an absolutely fine young man that touched the lives of so many. Our prayers are with all of you with this tragic loss.

Micheal, though it may not have been said enough, was always a good friend to our group. We was a gracious and encouraging leader while volunteering in the Civil Air Patrol, and a personal role model. He will be severely missed. Rest easy, until Valhalla brother, we stand with you.

What a beautiful child who made the world a better place...whose kindness & care of others was evident throughout his every day...who was so very bright & worked hard to be better than his yesterday. I love this child and am so grateful my heart was touched by his (& his momma’s) many years ago. I’m a better person & teacher because of Michael. Michael was one of my favorite people to be around. He constantly challenged me to be my best and made me laugh in the process. I admired endless things about him. His smile lit up any room . And I am honored to have competed with him during our EMT basic program's HOSA competition .

Such a tragedy. Michael was a co-worker at AMR, and fellow Civil Air Patrolman with my stepdaughter Lindsay Chandler, whom we lost November 2, 2017. May your friends and family eventually reach a point of some comfort and peace.
