Michael F. Otis, age 63, of Byron Center, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Michael was a strong leader and passionate about his family. His desire to put others before himself, his intentional love for others, and his desire to serve Jesus was evident to all who knew him. Michael served his Lord in many ways including Clear Bible Inc. where he was chairman of the board, and in various other ministries at Mars Hill. Through his involvement in these ministries, it led him to relationships and friendships all over the world. Mike had an entrepreneurial spirit and was the founder and CEO of Double-O Inc. He enjoyed woodworking in his shop, hiking, hunting, bicycling, and riding his motorcycle. Mike was involved in the Michigan Chapter of EO Network where he mentored other business owners. Above all, his legacy of faith and family will be forever cherished. He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Otis. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 25 years, Linda; children, Ben (Heather) Otis, Sean O’Brien, Keith (Becky) Otis, Craig (Veronica) O’Brien, Lynelle (Erik Bowersox) Otis, Eric (Kim) O’Brien, Philip (Amanda) Otis, Kyle O’Brien; grandchildren, Brandon, Claire, Sanora, Harrison, Wyatt, Isaiah, Liliana, Bella, Amelia; mother, Bev (Ken) Rearick; mother-in-law, Ruth Horjus; brothers, Scott (Carrie) Otis, Dan (Deb) Otis; sister, Kim Otis; several loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and other extended family members. A funeral service to honor Mike will be held at 1 pm on Monday, July 11, 2022, at Mars Hill Bible Church, 3501 Fairlanes Ave. SW, Grandville. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. and also on Monday from 12-1 pm prior to the service at church.
