Michael Henry Kwas

Michael Kwas, age 80, of Holland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025. Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a deep love for travel and explored much of the country throughout his life, with a special fondness for Arizona. He enjoyed live entertainment and had a passion for discovering unique coffee shops across the nation—though none quite compared to his favorite, “Mr. Burger” coffee. One of Michael’s favorite adventures was traveling along Route 66, where he delighted in visiting the many small towns along the iconic highway. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, a commitment he carried with pride throughout his life. Michael had a sweet tooth and never passed up a good donut or a slice of pie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alethea Kwas; sisters,  Zoenna Jennings, Becky Kwas; and brother, Steve Kwas. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years, Sharon Kwas; children, Tristine and Jared Fleming, Tracy and Bill Hall, Jessica and Nathan Howell; grandchildren, Josh Kwas, Tavin Fleming, Cassandra Velez, Allison and Bobbie Wilkerson, Marina and Blain Bouwman, Courtney Alferink, and Kendall Merchut; step-children, Renee Douglas, Chad and Lara Douglas, Dan Douglas; step-grandchildren, Kyle Thomson, Padjill and Nathanial Fricke, Olivia and Enrique Lopez, Ayla Douglas, Ella Douglas; great-grandchildren, Sylvia, Annette, Delilah, Dawson, Asher, and Mac; siblings, Chris Kwas, Kathy and Ken Lucy, Jon Kwas; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday one hour prior to the service at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Stroke Association.
