Michael Gerard Quick

Michael Gerard Quick, 61 years old, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on Monday evening, September 16, after struggling for many years with alcoholism. He was surrounded by his loving family, including his sisters Karen Shaheen (Mick), Mary McDonald (James), and Margaret Tober (David). Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Connie Quick, and his brother Fred. Mike attended Catholic Central High School and graduated from Grand Rapids Central High School in 1976. He had many jobs over the years, and he particularly enjoyed cabinetry and woodworking. His primary enjoyment came from music. He played the guitar and sang. At one time he was in a Christian rock band with his brother, Fred. Mike was loved by his nieces and nephews. He will be missed. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 20th at 10am at St. Isidore Church, 628 Diamond NE in Grand Rapids. The family will be present at 9am to meet with relatives and friends.
