Michael Bosscher, Age 77, of Grand Rapids passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Esther Bosscher; and his brother, Charles Bosscher.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Margie (Wellman) Bosscher; his children, Brian and Jillane Bosscher, Nate and Nicky Bosscher, Abigail and Anthony Allen; grandchildren, Kenzie and Matt Sherman, Logan Bosscher, Kyle Bosscher, Landon Bosscher, Alexis Allen, Anthony Allen, Jr.,  Aadyn Allen; siblings, Susan and C. Scott Kooistra, Mary and Lyle Forcia, and Scott and Jane Bosscher, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and siblings-in-law.

Michael was a lifelong learner who graduated from East Christian High School. He was proud to earn his Eagle Scout during this time. With a passion for education, Michael attended Grand Valley State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in communications and Aquinas College with a Masters of Management degree. 

Michael was a proud VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) volunteer in Denver, CO, a pivotal time in his life. Shortly after returning home from Colorado Michael met Margie, the love of his life, and they married in 1974. One of his proudest accomplishments was making sure that Margie completed nursing school. 

After 38 years of work at Steelcase, Michael retired and enjoyed reading, family, travel, and lake life. Chosen for a business exchange by the Rotary Club, he traveled to the Caribbean where he represented Steelcase. With an interest in public speaking, he became a member of Toastmasters.  

Michael was rarely seen without a book in his hand, a highlighter in his pocket, and a camera around his neck. He had a true appreciation for musical theater and the performing arts, along with an eclectic musical taste that included opera, symphony, show tunes, chorus, popular music, rock n’ roll, and heavy metal. 

Michael enjoyed deep, meaningful conversations and had a wonderful sense of humor. To be invited into Michael’s circle meant to know fun, humor, shared interests, and love. Michael was so proud of his wife, children, and grandchildren and loved them dearly.
