Michael Howard Birch, age 78, of Wyoming, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024. He was born and raised in Bay City and graduated from St. Stanislaus School. He attended Saginaw State University. Mike proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, with a specialty in the Arabic language.  He later retired after many years from General Motors.  He enjoyed playing golf, softball, and bowling, and also enjoyed watching many sports.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Jean Birch; sister, Susan (Noel) Ryder. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Rebecca Albano; granddaughters: Cameryn, Kaitlyn, Allyson; sister, Julie (Jay) Cardinal; nieces and nephews: Catherine (Stephan) Kinkle, John (Bethany) Ryder, David (Billie) Ryder, Stephanie (Matthew) Fogt; many great nieces and great nephews. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at MKD Reception and Event Center, 4145 Chicago Dr., SW, Grandville. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Saturday from 11:30-12 noon at the MKD Reception and Event Center. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
