On the morning of September 1, 2023 Michael Anthony Chatterson went to be with his Lord and Savior. Michael passed away suddenly of heart failure at his home in Holland, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Chatterson; mother, Beverly (Curry) Chatterson; brother, Brian Chatterson. Michael will be lovingly remembered by his children, Cassandra Kidder, Adam Tripp; grandchildren, Sadie Mitchell, Lydia Kegeler, Naomi Kegeler, Cameron Tripp; ex-wife and dear friend of many years, Marlys Gelder; stepchildren, Sam Ploeg, Sara Ploeg, Sandra Ploeg; siblings, Michelle (Chatterson) Gray, Carl Chatterson; nieces, Abby Chatterson, Amanda Chatterson; and nephew, Thomas Wheeler. Michael was born May 24, 1959 in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he attended East Kentwood High School and graduated with the class of 1977. He then went on to work for Paulstra CRC for many years. The family will be holding a small graveside service at 11 am on Thursday, September 21 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 2000 Walker Avenue NW, Grand Rapids. Following will be a Celebration of Life from 1 – 3 pm at Amvets Post 23, 98 52nd Street SE, Kentwood.
