Mettena “Tena” Henrietta Dykehouse, age 88, of Grandville, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2021. Tena was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved watching sports, especially supporting the Detroit Tigers. She enjoyed being out in nature and admiring the beautiful flowers. Tena was preceded in death by her son, Dean Dykehouse, and son-in-law, Matthew Holwerda. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 70 years, Duwayne Sr.; children, Diane Holwerda, Duwayne Dykehouse, Jr. and Nancy Gassman, Dawn Vruggink, Darrell and Robin Dykehouse, Denise and Jerry DeJong, Debra and Bob Langeweg, Lorraine Dykehouse; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pat Devrou, Berdie DeRuiter, Ruth Hoekzema; brother-in-law, Don VanHoven; sisters -in-law, Pat Dykhouse, Ann Dykhouse; and several nieces and nephews. Private family services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the funeral home, with Pastor Shawn Hulst officiating. The service will be available via livestream at www.mkdfuneralhome.com. Burial Blendon Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 6-8 pm and also an hour prior to the service at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
