Melvin Swartz

Melvin Jay Swartz, age 86, of Hudsonville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Stacey Roth; and brother, Ivan Swartz. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Marcia Swartz; children, Sally and Jeff Roth, Sue and Alan Almy, Sheryl Champion-Park; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Rachel and Duane Smith (Hadassah), Brianna Roth, Shane and Sarah Champion (Alice, Faye), Jason and Laura Champion (Madison), Eric Champion and fiancée, Avery Millenbach, Noah Park; sister-in-law, Fran Swartz; and nephew, Joe Swartz. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Rev. Philip Vos officiating. The burial will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
