WHEAT- Medell Wheat aged 100, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1992; daughters, Hazel Lee, Erma Cook; son, Charles Wheat; sons-in-law, James Evanczo, Tom Lee; grandson, Jason Wheat; 4 sisters and 7 brothers. Surviving is her daughter, Irene Evanczo; son-in-law, Wayne Cook; sister-in-law Doris Gibbs; 16 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Medell attended Good News Baptist Church. Proud to have worked with the Voight family as their housekeeper and continued after the Voight house became a museum. A complete funeral service will be held 11AM Friday, August 2, 2019 at Good New Baptist Church, 6830 Eastern Ave. SE, Grand Rapids. Medell's family will greet relatives and friends Thursday from 4PM - 6PM at Stegenga Funeral Chapel 3131 S. Division Ave. and 10AM -11AM on Friday at Church. Interment will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
