Maxine Hiemstra, age 87, of Hudsonville, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Maxine was a registered nurse and worked at Zeeland Hospital in OB, Ottawa Area Center as a school nurse with disabled children, and also with children as an in-home health care nurse. Maxine and her husband loved to travel and were dedicated Calvin College basketball fans. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, George; children, Shelley and Randy Van Dyke, Bruce and Loris Hiemstra, Brian and Ruth Hiemstra, Sharon Hiemstra and Eric Craymer; 8 grandchildren, Bob and Nick Van Dyke, David, Rebecca, and Dan Hiemstra, Rachel and Josh VanderGrift, Josh and Liz Hiemstra; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Ken and Eileen Scott; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11 am at Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church (1571 Baldwin, Jenison) with Rev. Nancy Boote officiating. Interment at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. S.W., Grandville, and Thursday 10 to 10:45 prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Calvin College Annual Fund.
