Holwerda, Matthew John Matthew John Holwerda, age 63, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 22, 2015 after a brief and intense battle with cancer.  He was the former owner and CEO of Hilco Technologies.  He loved golfing, bowling, and fishing.  He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his wife of 42 years, Diane; children and grandchildren, Matthew and Mary Holwerda (Bryce, Mia), Marcus and Nisi Holwerda (Kyndra, Mason), Apryl Cherry; sister and brother, Cathy and Mike Bontekoe, Malcomb and Leanna Holwerda; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Duwayne and Tena Dykehouse; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Duwayne Dykehouse, Dawn and Ed Vruggink, Darrell and Robyn Dykehouse, Denise and Jerry DeJong, Deb and Bob Langeweg, Lorraine Dykehouse; many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Virginia Holwerda; sister, Starlene Daverman; brother-in-law, Dean Dykehouse.  Funeral services will be held on Friday 11 am at Georgetown Christian Reformed Church, 6475 40th Ave., Hudsonville, with Rev. Marc Nelesen and Rev. Jack Dick officiating.  Interment Blendon Township Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Friday from 10-10:45 at church prior to the service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Kids First Emergency Shelter of DA Blodgett and St. John’s Homes.
