Mary Veeninga

VEENINGA – Mary Lou Veeninga, age 73, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Veeninga; parents, Jack and Martha Dietzel; sister, Deanna Dietzel; brother, Michael Dietzel.  Mary Lou is survived by her husband, John Veeninga; children, Brian (Christy) Veeninga, Brenda (Gary) Hutt, Richard (Courtney) Veeninga, Johny (Karen) Dietzel; grandchildren, Truck, Daisy, Marielle, Marissa, Kayla, Autumn, Addie.  Mary Lou will be remembered for her caring heart.  She worked for many years at Meadowlark Retirement Village and really enjoyed the residents that she cared for.  As she battled cancer, she got involved with Gilda’s Club of Grand Rapids. Mary Lou also loved animals.  She always enjoyed her dear dog, Bella as well as her daughter, Brenda’s many cats.  Shopping was one of her favorite pastimes especially going to the Goodwill on Prairie Street.  Per Mary Lou’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of her life will take place at a future date.  To share a photo, memory and sign the online guestbook please visit www.stegengafuneralchapel.com
