Mary Sikkema-Natte

Mary  Sikkema-Natte (nee Yonkers), age 91, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away into the arms of Jesus on Friday, June 3, 2016.  She was born in Grand Rapids to Edward and Marie Boes.  She attended South Grandville Christian Reformed Church for many years and was one of the organists there in the 1950’s and 60’s.  She also attended Jenison Bible Church.  Music brought her great joy and she sang in The Melody Six sextet for many years.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald Sikkema in 2002 and Edwin Natte in 2014; brother, Leo Yonkers; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and a niece.  She is survived by her daughters, Sally (Don) Komejan, Dr. Barbara (Dr. John) Serini; grandchildren, Doug (Julie) Komejan, Dr. Jessica, Jeffrey, and John Serini; precious great granddaughters, Emma and Hannah Komejan; step children, Ron (Sandra) Natte, Gloria (John) Rocha, Nancy (Jack) Phillips, Terry (Dorene) Natte, Deb (Mark) Allen; many step grandchildren, step great grandchildren; step brothers and step sisters; sisters-in-law, Ruth (Kink) Jansen, Esther Dykstra, Mary Allen; brother-in-law, Seymour Sikkema; many nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of the Laurels of Hudsonville and Hospice of Michigan for the loving and compassionate care given to Mary.  Funeral services will be held on Monday 3 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Pastor Lee Buer officiating.  Interment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 2-3 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Laurels of Hudsonville or Hospice of Michigan.
