Mary Patricia “Pat” Veenendall, age 81, of Jenison, completed her earthly journey and joined her heavenly father on Monday, June 22, 2020.   She was greeted by her loving husband of 50 years, Carl Veenendall; her infant daughter; parents, Clarence and Mary DeYoung; her sisters, Karen DeGlopper and Sandra Meade. Pat was a kind and gentle woman with a great sense of humor whose pride and joy was her family. She will be greatly missed by her children; Dawn (Steve) Cole, Lori (Mark) Nylaan, Karla Miller, Ken (Amy) Veenendall, Tricia (Jeff) Bender; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many dear friends; cousins; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020, at 3 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Larry Bush officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.  Due to the COVID-19, please wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines.  The burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.

Pat was a classmate and graduate of CCHS -Class of 1957. She also was good friend as we were alphabetically placed in classes and our last names were close together. We spent many a day “studying” with other friends (Diana, Judy, Carol ) and also attended the dances at CCHS with our boyfriends ( Carl was her high school boy friend) and spent time celebrating our high school graduation at Grand Haven. What a delightful girlfriend she was, quiet but so oh much fun. I treasure these memories . My condolences to her family. “Eternal rest grant unto her , O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed members of CCHS - Class of 1957, Rest In Peace. Amen”
