MC AVOY - Mary Ann McAvoy, aged 75 went to be with her Lord, Monday September 11, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Allen McAvoy; children, Jennifer (Craig) Vetter, Allen (Katy) McAvoy , Michelle (Jason) DeMink, Michael (Shannon) McAvoy; grandchildren, Lauren, Johnathan, Paige, Joseph, Brooke, Jenna, Lilianna, Adalynn, Preslee and Kensington; brothers-in-law, Jack (Rosalie) McAvoy, Richard (Patricia) McAvoy, Michael (Andie) McAvoy. She was a graduate of the University of Detroit/Mercy. Mary Ann worked at MMPC as a Medical Technologist. Some of Mary Ann's greatest passions were serving as a Consolata Lay Missionary, her involvement with Rockford Relay for Life, being a West MI Weight Watchers Instructor and serving as an officer on the Patient Advisory Board of Spectrum Health. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 Noon Friday, September 15, 2017 at Assumption BVM Church, 6369 Belmont Ave. NE, Belmont. Her family will greet relatives and friends Thursday from 1 to 3 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel - Belmont, 1601 Post Dr. NE., and one hour prior to the service at the church. Prayers of the rosary will be recited 7:30 PM Thursday at the funeral chapel. Interment Plainfield Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Relay for Life - Rockford.
