Mary McAlary

Mary Ann McAlary was called home on February 9, 2025, at the age of 95 and is now singing with the angels, "Glory to God in the Highest", and seeing the Lord "Face to Face in All His Glory". She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylord “Mac” McAlary. Mary cherished her family with quality times together and was richly blessed by the faith ties the family shared. Surviving are her children: Linda (Gary) Norder, Vicki (Rick) Sikkema, and Dan (Michelle) McAlary; grandchildren: Eric (Mollie) Sikkema, Kris Retzlaff, Sara (Kurt) Suidinski, Nate (Liza) Norder, Ashton (KJ) Landis, Trent (Gabbie) McAlary, and Kalon (Lee) Start; 15 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Larry McAlary; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends. Through the years, she and her husband traveled throughout the U.S. and to several other countries. Mary loved sharing her talent in music with others by singing in the Grace Reformed Church's Choir for 65 years, as a past member of The Metropolitan Choir of Praise, and led hymn sing-a-longs at several nursing homes. Serving her Lord in this capacity, being a wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma, has brought her immense pleasure as she carried through her motto for living, "Live, Laugh, Love". Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 13, at 11:30 a.m. at Hudsonville Reformed Church, 3950 Highland Dr., Hudsonville, with Pastor Scott Van Oostendorp officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 10:00-11:15 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
