Remembering Mary Louise Hand

Mary Louise Hand, age 92, of Grandville, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 23, 2025. She was preceded in death by her son, Todd Hand; parents, John and Alice Wyma; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Audrey Wyma. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years, Robert; children, Tom and Deb Hand, Dave and Cheryl Hand, Bob and Kristen Hand; daughter-in-law, Diane Hand; grandchildren, Allison, and Erin Hand, Kaylee and Zach Faasse, David and Shae Hand, Autumn Hand, Bobby and Karly Hand, Lindsay Hand, Christian and Cassidy Hand; great-grandsons, Bobby, and Cody Hand, Jaden Hand, Max, and Evander Faasse, Paxton Hand; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mary had a large and diverse friend group consisting of her travel, shopping, coffee, and antiquing friends. She loved gardening and quilting and was an amazing painter; painting on anything she could get her hands on. In recent years, she loved the challenge of Sudoku puzzles. Food was her love language, and she was very proud of her Dutch heritage. Time spent with her family gave her the greatest joy. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Than Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Thursday from 1-1:45 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods

My condolences to the Hand family on the loss of such an amazing lady. She was such a wonderful gramma to my daughter who married her grandson. May you find comfort in the memories of your loved one.

I’m so sad to learn about the death of my beautiful Aunt Mary. I’m sending hugs to Uncle Bob and my cousins and their families. I know how much you will miss her. She was a loving Aunt with an artistic eye who loved to paint, decorate and garden. But my favorite memories seem to revolve around her baking skills. I don’t think I ever went to Aunt Mary’s house when there wasn’t a yummy baked good coming out of the oven right after we got there! I will miss you Aunt Mary. Love, Sue
