Mary Jo Wheeler

​Mary Jo Wheeler, age 71, passed away after a long hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Army, and retired from the National Guard. Mary enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She loved trips to casinos and was the life of the party. Mary liked to hunt and fish, especially in Brethren, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Wheeler; sons, Jeffrey Wheeler and Brian Wheeler. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters-in-law, Crystal Plowman, and Michelle and J. Feldt; grandchildren, Madelyn Feldt and fiance, Lucas Belonga, Celina Wheeler, Lillian Feldt, Luke Feldt, and Sophia Wheeler; many close friends from Brethren and the Grand Rapids Area. A private family service will be held on Monday, May 10, at 11 am at the funeral home. The service will be available via livestream at www.mkdfuneralhome.com. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Sunday from 2-5 pm and on Monday from 10-10:45am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
