Remembering Mary Jane Mulder

Mary Jane (Geelhoed) Mulder, formerly of Wyoming, MI, was born in Grand Rapids, MI on January 1, 1929 and passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday May 4th, 2024 at the age of 95. Mary Jane (Mickey) was a true Christian woman who was selflessly devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the fourth of six children of the late Orrie and Margery (Wales) Geelhoed and a lifelong member of Home Acres Reformed Church.

After graduating from Kelloggsville High School in 1947, she met her husband Jim in 1948 and became engaged in 1950 after he had proudly served in the USN. They were married from 1951 until his passing 46 years later in 1997.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Nellie Miller, Arlene Vollink, Adrianna Clodfelter-Williams, Jack Geelhoed and Jeralyn Bushouse; sisters-in-law Katherine Sharphorn, Anne Ezinga-Post and brother-in-law John Mulder. She is survived by her children: Terry (Cheryl) Mulder of CT, Tom (Kathy) Mulder of WA, Tim (Janet) Mulder of MI and Tami (Herman) Teachout of GA, fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Special thanks to all those who helped her throughout the many years as a widow including family, friends, neighbors, care givers (Brenda at Meals on Wheels is great!) and everyone at Holland Home Raybrook Manor & Faith Hospice.

Mrs. Mulder reposes at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf funeral home 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW where the family will meet relatives & friends Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 at 10:00am at Home Acres Reformed Church 21 Murray SE with visitation prior to the funeral from 9:00am to 9:45am; Pastor Darrell Dalman officiating. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens (2894 Patterson Avenue, Grand Rapids, MI). In lieu of flowers, or anyone who wishes, may make a memorial contribution to Home Acres Reformed Church.
