Mary Cadena

Mary Salas Cadena, age 95, of Grand Rapids, was called to her heavenly home on Monday, November 16, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Frank Olivo Cadena; parents, Bernardo Rodriguez Salas, Adelina Guerrero Moreno; son, Frank Lee Cadena; siblings: Eleanor Moreno, Eduardo Salas, Jose Salas, Stephanie Salas, Irene Garza, Lucy Flores; grandchildren: Miguel F. Navarro, Serenita Navarro, Ana Lisa J. Cadena; many nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Alice C. Blanchard; sister, Angeline Gutierrez; brother-in-law, Johnny Gutierrez; daughter-in-law; Judith Cassis; grandchildren, Ryan Avery, Venisa (David) Fitz, Jon Gabriel Cadena; great grandchildren, David Fitz, Jr., Liliana Fitz; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Mary was a loving, caring wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She was a very dedicated and devoted Catholic woman who was continually praying for and blessing others. Mary loved cooking for the family. One of her favorite dishes to prepare was carne asada. She also enjoyed watching Mexican Western movies, novellas of Mexican stories, listening to Mexican music and dancing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 19, 11 am at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with Fr. John Vallier presiding. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 5 - 8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with a rosary at 7:30 pm. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to American Cancer Society.
