Mary Ann (Kuhns) Allen

Mary Ann (Kuhns) Allen, age 81, formerly of Grandville and Wyoming was called to her heavenly home after a courageous journey with Dementia on Monday, August 8, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Eugene L. Kuhns. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Leroy F. Allen; her children, Kendra and Dr. Keith Postma, Joe and Nancy Kuhns, Andy and Shali Kuhns; her grandchildren, Michael, and Lauren Postma, Jaclyn, and Andrea Kuhns, Elizabeth, and William Kuhns; sisters, Caroline Gosun, Charlene Himebough; sister-in-law, Lucille Johnson; brother-in-law, Jimmy Kuhns; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Friday 10:30 am at Grandville United Methodist Church, 3141 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, with Pastor Ryan Wieland officiating. Interment Fort Custer National Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.

All -- it was a privilege to serve Mary at Vista Springs...if even for a short time. Personally, I have great memories of coming to visit and play together with you as children in your home...that beautiful home and lovely garden in your backyard. I remember the charm of both your parents...and will treasure being part of the team caring for her. God bless you all.

Dear Kendra and family, I was deeply saddened to read of the passing of your mom. We had some good times together traveling to Chicago and also being in the Dorothy Swift Guild at Spectrum Butterworth.
