Martha “Marty” Nyhuis, of Jenison, celebrated her 90th birthday on February 20, 2019, and went home to be with Jesus, July 26, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay L. Nyhuis. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Linda (Dr. Gerald)  Kooistra, William (Sue) Kirsch; grandchildren, Nathan (Stacy) Geerts, Amanda (Christopher) Reader, Mitchell (Tamy) Geerts, Hillari (Kyle) Madison, Mark (Rachel) Kirsch, Franklin (Heather) Kirsch, Molly (Jordan) Gallaher; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marion Westerhof, Rosie Nyhuis; and several nieces and nephews. Marty enjoyed her cottage, loved traveling, and spending winters in Florida.  Her family would like to thank the staff and her friends at Sunset Manor. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Bob Bloom officiating. Interment will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, July 30, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
