Martha Marie Bloem, age 82, of Caledonia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. Martha’s legacy lives on in her family. It was her passion to raise her children and support them in many ways. Together with her husband, they also ran an adult foster care home in Newaygo. She cherished the simplicity of life, gardening and canning. She also enjoyed traveling to visit family in Florida. Martha will be greatly missed for her love for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Eva Peterson, brothers, Harold Peterson, Dave Peterson and sisters, Bernice Peterson, Helen Cook, and Gladys VanBeek. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years, George; children, Teresa (David Zumwalt) Bloem, Cheryl (Vaden) DeJarnette, Fred (Karrie Monroe) Bloem; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lois Bloem, Stanley Peterson, Orpha Bates; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, September 26, 2022 at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave, Wyoming, with Deacon Wilder officiating. Burial will take place at Kent Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday for an hour prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Apostolic Faith Church 1935 44th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508.

Mom, I'm so glad I've had 62 years to spend with you. Even though it doesn't seem like enough time, all those moments in my 62 years will always be treasured. I'm blessed to have parents like you and dad who have been faithful to God, and to your family, without wavering! You stayed true to who you are and I'm grateful for your example. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you, or even watch one of the many videos I've taken of you. I love you Mom........So glad I've had 62 years to tell you and to show you! I miss you so much!

Aunt Martha you will be truly missed. So many beautiful memories of you from growing up as kid's with you & uncle Yogi . Yours & Uncle Yogi's devotion to God and your family is going to be rewarded in Heaven. Give dad a hug & kiss and everyone else from me. You look so beautiful. I know you'll be dancing in the sky's. I'm sure if Uncle Bud has any part with dad some polka music & rolling out the barrel will occur. I bet Heavens beautiful filled with all the angels. What an honor to sit beside Jesus. I love you & will cherish everything with you. 🙏❤🙏
