Martha M. Besteman, age 100, of Grand Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Martin; son-in-law, Robert Werkhoven; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Marcella and Jerry Menkveld, Dolly and John Lageste, Coralee and Jerry VanAmstel. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Gary and Shirley Besteman, Dave and Dottie Besteman, Lynn Bengelink, Steve and Marcia Besteman, Lori Werkhoven, Brad and Pati Besteman, Jeanne Besteman; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Private family services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Brian Myers officiating. Burial will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Monday, May 13 from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to With Ministries (formerly Friendship Ministries).
