Martena Van Dyke

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Martena “Marty” Van Dyke, age 92, of Jenison, who passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025. Marty genuinely loved being around people. She cherished time spent with family and friends and was happiest simply being present wherever her loved ones gathered. Marty enjoyed playing bingo and visiting the casino, but her greatest joy came from making memories with those she loved. Marty and her husband, Dick, treasured the winters they spent together in North Fort Myers, Florida. She especially loved family gatherings at the cottage and visits with her favorite dog, Zoey. 

Marty was preceded in death by her grandson, Douglas Troy Van Dyke; sister, Grace and Larry Miller; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann and Bob Hollebeck, Carol and Al Talsma, Sally and Steve Turner, and Sandy Van Dyke. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 68 years, Richard (Dick) Van Dyke; children, Thomas and Chris Van Dyke, Amy and Duane Klooster, Rhonda and Jeff DuCharme; grandchildren, Craig and Michelle Van Dyke, Lea Klooster, Zach DuCharme, Audrey DuCharme, Jaden DuCharme, Hailey DuCharme; great-grandchildren, Skyla Van Dyke, Colton Van Dyke; brothers, Alfred “Jay” and Nancy Van Dyke, Ken and Chris Van Dyke; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barb and Bill Henderson, Jim Van Dyke, Roger and Jan Van Dyke; and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Deacon Michael Van Dyke officiating. Burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Tuesday from 1-2 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Epilepsy Foundation.
