Marlene was a registered nurse, but after she had her children, she stayed home to love and care for them. She volunteered tirelessly for Right to Life as she organized and enlisted friends to make crafts to sell at their yearly auction. She and her husband, Mart, spent many years singing in the choir at Calvary Church where they were members for many years. She loved to make homemade rolls which her family loved, and she was an amazing cook and baker. She lovingly took care of her grandchildren, and they spent many summers swimming in grandpa and grandma’s pool. She and Mart traveled together and also made sure they stayed healthy by walking every day. Marlene loved Jesus and shared her faith with her friends, children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren would get handwritten notes from her telling them that she was praying for them. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Sunset Manor where mom was so lovingly cared for. The immediate family will have a private viewing and burial at Georgetown Township Cemetery on Saturday, April 22, 2023 with a celebration of life service at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Right to Life of Grand Rapids, 2340 Porter St SW, Wyoming, MI 49519.
